Full-time Employee Benefits

Our employees are the most valuable and important asset of our firm. In recognition of this, we do our best to offer benefits which enhance our employees' professional and personal lives. The following is a list of some of our full-time employee benefits:

  • Profit-Sharing Distributions – To provide a sense of employee ownership, each employee receives a quarterly distribution of profits. 20% of all quarterly profits are distributed to employees in proportion to an employee's base salary paid that quarter based on cash available.
  • Employee Stock Purchase – As employees progress in the firm to leadership roles, MME offers the opportunity to purchase stock.
  • Merit Bonus – To reward a strong performance, all employees are eligible to receive a year-end merit bonus.
  • Paid Time Off (PTO): Employees may use available PTO for vacation, illness, children's school events, religious observations or any other personal business. Employees with less than five years of service receive 15 days per year; employees with 5 to 10 years receive 20 days per year; and employees with 10 or more years of service receive 25 days per year.
  • Holidays: McVeigh & Mangum celebrates 7 paid holidays each year. (New Years Day, Memorial Day, 4 th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Day)
  • Other Paid Time Off: Jury Duty, Bereavement Leave
  • Health Insurance: We pay 100% of our employees' medical insurance plus 25% of their dependant coverage.
  • Life Insurance: We pay for $25,000 of life insurance for each employee. In addition, we offer supplemental life insurance up to $300,000 at the employees expense.
  • Long Term Disability Insurance: We pay 100% for our employees' long term disability insurance.
  • 401(k) Safe Harbor Plan (through Fidelity Investments): Available to all employees on the first of the month following 90 days of service, our firm's plan allows employees to deduct a portion of his/her salary on a tax-deferred basis.  The company matches 100% of the first 3% and 50% up to the next 2% of the employee's deferral.
  • Cafeteria Plan – Employee purchased insurance such as family medical, dental, supplemental income plans (AFLAC), etc. can be purchased with pretax dollars.
  • First Time Home Buyer: We know how hard it is to buy that first house and how this is one of the most important investments you can make. To help our employees establish a residence, we offer assistance for first time home buyers.
  • Employee Referral Program – Employees who successfully refer full-time candidates will receive a referral bonus.
  • Free Checking Account/Employee Bonus Banking Program – Employees of McVeigh & Mangum are eligible for a free checking account and free checks from Regions Bank.
  • Tuition Reimbursement – McVeigh & Mangum recognizes that the skills and knowledge of its employees are critical to our success. Employees may receive up to 100% of tuition costs.
  • Professional Association Membership Reimbursement – Employees may join approved professional or networking organizations of their choice and receive approved annual reimbursement.
  • Professional Registrations – We urge all of our professionals to obtain registration as a licensed engineer (or technical certification). Employees will be given time off with pay for the purpose of taking examination. We will pay for the cost of registration and annual renewals in the state of residence (and other states if the company requests registration).
  • Continuing Professional Education – In order to avoid professional obsolescence we encourage continuing education through in-house seminars and off-site meetings/seminars.
  • Computer Purchase Program – If available, we provide retired company computers/equipment for our employee’s home use on a first come first serve basis. Our employees can also use our corporate discount plan to buy new computers/equipment.
  • Flexible schedule: We have a core time of 9 am to 4 pm (excluding lunch) in order to better serve our clients; otherwise, employees may choose their preferred schedule.
  • Other benefits include company social gatherings, free refreshments (except sodas 25¢), birthday lunches, breakfast every Friday and more.
